Reach security engineers, pentesters and researchers

Five options, one place to request them: list an open-source tool for free, Skip the queue + Featured, sponsor Open Source Tools, advertise on News & CVE, or book a pack. Sign in, choose an option in your dashboard, and ThreatWire reviews every request. Pricing on request, no online payment. Weekly slots, always labelled, no tracking and no third-party scripts in our own ads.

Open Source Tools

Engineers choosing a security tool. Shown on the catalogue, its categories and every tool page, except dual-use tools (no ads there at all).

Products that are not in the catalogue (commercial, closed-source or SaaS) use the Open Source Tools sponsorship: top strip, grid card and tool page box. The Featured listing is only for tools listed in the catalogue.

News & CVE

Defenders following CVEs, threats and research. Cards sit outside the reporting: after the introduction of long articles, after the key facts of CVE records, at the end of the content, and in the article sidebar on wide screens. A vendor is never shown on its own CVE records, and only one advertiser appears per page. You can target page types (news, threat, research, CVE) and vendors; your own vendor is always excluded from your CVE targeting.

Corner notification

A small card labelled "Ad". On desktop it stays in the bottom-right corner, outside the reading column, and changes with the pages. On mobile it is a bottom card that the reader can close; closing is respected for the visit. Never on account, admin or this page.

Packs

A pack books its placements together on the same weeks. Each card lists exactly what it includes; you can still ask for changes in the request notes.

Pricing on request for every paid option and pack: ThreatWire quotes per placement and week after reviewing your request. There is no public rate card and no online payment; we share the measured audience numbers with every quote.

How ads are chosen

  • Sold by the week (Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC), with a fixed share of voice per placement.
  • Priority: exclusive or fixed-share sponsorships, then weighted rotation (pages that match your targeting count double), then ThreatWire's own "Advertise here" cards or, on News & CVE only, Google AdSense.
  • Context only: page type, CVE vendor, tool category and tags. No cookie, no profile, no fingerprint. Repeat limits are counted in the open tab and forgotten when it closes.
  • One advertiser per page, no two competitors side by side, never a vendor on its own CVE records.
  • No paid ads on dual-use tool pages or DeFi pages (only ThreatWire's own cards there).
  • Every paid placement is labelled "Sponsored" (cards, boxes, Featured) or "Ad" (strips, corner notification).
  • Viewable impressions (half the card on screen for one second) are sampled, clicks are all counted. Ad blockers reduce what is measured; we report measured numbers and the method.

Who can advertise

  • Accepted: open-source and source-available security projects, security vendors and services (EDR, SIEM, AppSec, cloud, pentest, audits, training, conferences, data providers), security hiring.
  • Declined: malware, stalkerware, hacking-for-hire, exploit or access sales; scareware and fake alerts; tokens, presales, airdrops, trading, gambling; unverifiable claims; landing pages that download files or ask for credentials; scripts, pixels and iframes.
  • Ads are labelled "Ad" or "Sponsored" and never change coverage. See the editorial policy.

How to request

Every request is sent from your ThreatWire account, so you can follow the review, the quote and the dates in one place. Sign in with your email (no password), choose one of the five options in your dashboard, and fill the form for that option only. ThreatWire reviews every request. Pricing on request: there is no online payment and no request form on this page.

Not signed in? You sign in first and come straight back to the option you picked.

Partners (non-paid)

"Partner" on ThreatWire means a collaboration, never a paid placement.

  • Data and research collaborations. Shared work on CVE records, exploit tracking and the DeFi incident database. Sources and credits are always shown.
  • Disclosure coordination. Help publishing a vulnerability or incident once it is safe, with the fix and the official sources.
  • Open-source projects. Listing in the tools catalogue is free and editorial.

Write through the contact page. A partnership never changes a verification status, a score or a date.

FAQ

Do I need an account?
Yes. Requests are sent from a free ThreatWire account (email sign-in, no password) so the review, the quote and the status stay in your dashboard. Signing in takes one email link.
Can I change my ad during a campaign?
Yes. Every change is reviewed again before it goes live.
What if a placement is unavailable?
We propose other weeks or an equivalent placement. Nothing is booked before you agree.
Can I cancel?
Yes, free of charge before the first day of the campaign.
Do you sell data about readers?
No. Our ads use the page context only and send no data to advertisers beyond UTM parameters on the link.
